Ulla & Fabiola

Fabiola, born February 2010, is a daughter of Ortega (Novilheiro) out of Samarra (Ladino). She is living in Germany since 2015.

From the bottom of my heart I knew this beautiful grey mare was my top favorite horse, when I checked the La Perla sales website. But from a rational point of view I planed on buying a “competitive” young horse, which led me to other better suited candidates. Well, with that in mind, we visited La Perla and luckily all went differently. Even my really straight forward “sales consultant” had nothing to say against Fabiola. Despite all my good intentions I had immediately sparkles in my eyes when I saw her standing, with clinking eyes, at the grooming area.

Noch auf La Perla

It was a nice warm welcome at La Perla. The Team showed us all the horses in the field as well as the breeding stallions. The way and conditions the horses grow up there and the lovely consequent handling was one of the reasons I decided to buy the fiery “Lola”. By the end of October 2015 she went on the journey to Heidelberg.

Lola is always trying to take on her role as a well behaved and noble Lusitano. It is not working out that well all the time, because she owns a little goofball and a little green Hulk inside of her. Well, I support the goofball, because it is a really funny side. But I can feel that Hulk embarrasses her, therefore we try not to unleash “him”. Fortunately Lola is an extreme sweet and affectionate mare, but at times as a devil-horned horse she switches between genius and insanity. I lovingly call her my “Misses Krawallitano” (rowdy-lusitano). She is affectionate and loves humans as well as extraordinarily willing to perform and attentive. My trainer describes her as a precision weapon, which could perform better for sure, if I could handle it. But as long as I am not acting super dumb, she forgives me in a real noble manner.

Until now we spent more than five eventful years with ups and downs together. I don’t want to miss one single day. Hopefully, as a “well conditioned mare owner” (who owns who?), she will greet me every morning for many more years with her ultra-high like scream.
