Anja, Lina & Invencible

Actually…
After many clinics taught by Leonie, many short trips or family vacations and a 10 week practicum at La Perla, we wanted to buy a “Perl” so badly. But at that point it was impossible due to the high prices at the boarding stables at home.

Well, …. It always turns out differently. Invencible is now part of our family. He is registered as “La Perlas Invencible”, we lovingly call him “Inni” or “Vanilla cloud” (according to our physiotherapist).

In September 2019 we decided to participate at the sales auction at La Perla, which turned out to be a total thriller. Invencible; horse Number 15; bidder number 15. I think Inni he was supposed to be our horse. Ralf Schauwacker video taped the thriller, if you like you can watch it right here.

Two weeks later in a stormy and rainy night he finally arrived. He went out of the trailer and was “here”. The freight carrier did a super job and so Inni managed the long journey pretty good.

He makes us happy every day and he gets along well with our other horse Rio since day one. We like to give him all the time he needs and therefore we started the training slowly. Overall he is doing great, is absolutely motivated and likes to do all the things we ask for correctly. We also took him on vacation which wasn’t an issue at all. He mastered his first trail rides like a champ, no matter if he was first or last. And he can be really fast…..

Inni also likes to jump, seems like he has the genes from his grandpa Novilheiro. No matter if under saddle or jumping in liberty, he does it good. The trainer was positively surprised and said that this Spanish horse jumps better than some of the warmbloods and it seems like he has a lot experience. Well, they don’t know many Lusitanos from La Perla 🙂

At our homeshow we did the first dressage test. He was super relaxed, did it like a champ. Only his name was a bit difficult to pronounce for everybody. Due to the pandemic situation we got a little stuck in training. No clinics with Leonie or other clases at all. So we gave him more time and focus on the basics until we can start again. Anyway, we needed to adjust the saddle again – our little Popeye.

With all that said we would like to say thank you to Leonie to trust us with this wonderful horse. The next horse will be a “Perl” as well. And because Leonie knows us and we trust her completely, we would by it without even met him.
