Elke & Ladino

In 2014 I got to know Leonie through clinics in Münster with my Frisian Auke. The beginning of a wonderful friendship. A second horse was being planned. At that time there was an imposing PRE -Gracioso- in Leonie’s stable as a problem horse and for sale.

After a while it became clear that we are both equally crazy and fit together. So Gracioso came to me and Auke in 2016.
In 2019 I wanted to spend my 3 months sabbatical with Leonie in Spain at the stud and take both boys with me. Unfortunately I had to let go of Auke and go to Spain without him. He turned wonderful 26 years.

Auke can never be replaced, but it also quickly became clear to me that I had to get a second one and it had to be an Ermitaño son. Already in the pastures, as a 2-year-old, I noticed this one young stallion: Ladino.

Eventually I bought him and was allowed to stay with longer at Leonies La Perla. He received a little basic training, and I actually wanted to work a little with him in Spain in March 2020 before he was supposed to come to me to Germany. Corona thwarted us and I couldn’t fly and so he finally came to me in May 2020.
Again, due to the corona, things are progressing very slowly: work from the ground and on the lunge is great. Riding is exciting. But he was already with us on vacation at and in the sea in the netherlands and now walks wonderfully as a hand horse.
He’s still young! So more adventures will follow.
